Your sexual performance is directly related to how high your testosterone levels are and the critical flow of blood to the male sexual organ. Forth, high cholesterol levels are common in men with sexual problems. Although scientists are still studying the relationship between cholesterol and sexual performance, Dr. Charles Day, a biologist for Audex Laboratories, has a significant discovery. He found that plant sterols, particularly beta-sitosterol, block the intake of cholesterol by as much as 62% 72%.

How do we address these areas?

Several clinical studies have been done on testosterone that show significant results. For example, Dr. Joyce Tenover of the Emory University Medical School conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled test on elderly men for three months. Not only did their sexual drive and ability increase, but they also gained muscle mass, excreted fewer bone minerals and lowered their cholesterol levels.

According to newsweek magazine, Dr. Edward Klaiber, an endocrinologist at the Worcester Foundation for Biomedical Research, uses testosterone to treat aging men’s sexual performance problems with an 80% success rate.

The Dangers of Patches and Shots

The patches and shots put testosterone directly into the bloodstream, and that is where the problem lies. The body can’t control it. Male hormone therapy is relatively new, and the learning curve is still very steep.

Although a lot has been learned from female hormone therapy, the male system is significantly different, and you must be closely monitored by your physician. The main thing that doctors have learned is to be very careful.

There are three big risks. The first is the scariest: Because your body does not control the input of testosterone, it can be converted to dihydtrotestosterone, which is thought to be the cause of prostate problems.

Second, the dihydrotestosterone can accelerate baldness. Third, your body may shut down its natural production of testoterone, therby unbalancing your hormonal system. An unbalanced hormonal system can cause many health problems urelaated to sex.

Why Do You Have Low Testosterone?

The major cause of aging is the destructon of cells by free radicals. That means every organ is rduced in size and function. For example, by the time you are 80 years old, your kidneys, liver, brain and other organs (except your lungs and heart) will probably be 30% to 50% smaller than they were when you were 30 years old.

Testosterone is manufactured in you body from nutrients in several steps involving many parts of your body. Because your organs are only operating at 50% to 70% efficiency, you need more of the nutrients that are the easiest to convert to testosterone: DHEA, Andro, and zinc.
